In its recently released Hot Wheels 2008 report, The National Insurance Crime Bureau has reported that for the second year in a row, Honda vehicles lead the list of the most-reported stolen cars.

The organization ranked the 1995 Honda Civic the most-stolen car in the nation and 1991 Honda Accord right behind it. Third on the list is the 1989 Toyota Camry, followed by the 1997 Ford F-150 Series pickup truck.

The Hot Wheels 2008 report is a companion study to the bureau’s annual Hot Spots auto theft report, and further details of the study confirm that theft of older model vehicles has remained constant for the past several years.

Apparently, thieves continue to target these vehicles because they provide the best market for stolen vehicle parts, yet preliminary data from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report reveal that motor vehicle theft is headed for an 8.9 percent decrease in 2007.
